Driving lessons in Chorley
June 22nd, 2020 by linda
With the news reporting that the government are planning to ease more lockdown restrictions on the 4th July, meaning pubs, restaurants and hairdressers can reopen, and to loosen the 2 metre rule currently in place, we are hoping that also means driving lessons can start again too.
We expect that additional cleaning and covid-safe procedures will need to be in place, but we are all ready and are just waiting to hear its all go on the 4th.
In readiness, we are taking bookings for our Chorley instructor and spaces will be allocated in order of booking date, first priority will go to existing pupils booked prior to lockdown. So if you are not already booked in with us but are thinking about getting your driving lessons started, then contact us now to book in, you can make your booking online, however it is only for manual car for the Chorley area. We do cover the area for automatic tuition, but those instructors have about a 4 month waiting list.
Advance booking is also available for manual car tuition in Blackburn, Darwen, Accrington, Oswaldtwistle, Clayton-le-moors, Burnley, Nelson, Haslingden, Oldham, Royton, Chadderton, Failsworth and Middleton.
Anyone looking for intensive driving courses may be on a wait until January 2021 due to the back log of driving tests that the DVSA have to catch up on, when tests resume they already have 3 months of tests to complete but may only have half the examiners able to return to start with, and will only be allowing 4 tests per day per examiner per test centre instead of the normal 7, so this all points to about 5 or 6 months to carry out all current tests already booked and on hold.
If you are not already booked onto a course but have passed your theory, I would advise booking your intensive course now ready for the new year, so that as soon as the booking system opens we can secure a test for you for as soon as possible in the new year.
We will provide further updates once we hear confirmation stating if the 4th July is the date we can return to driver training.
